David Joerg - Two Sigma Investments

David joins Placed's board from Two Sigma, a technology company that applies a rigorous, scientific method-based approach to investment management. Prior to Two Sigma, he co-founded Vindigo, an early and successful provider of location services for mobile devices.

David is the Founder and CEO of Placed. Previously David held the roles of Director of Product and Operations at Quantcast. As Director of Product he drove Quantcast Marketer from idea to an audience platform used by over 300+ advertisers across 6 billion actions a month. David pivoted to Director of Operations as part of the launch of Quantcast Lookalikes the primary revenue generating product for the company.Prior to Quantcast, David has held leadership roles at WebTrends, and Farecast (acquired by Microsoft in 2008). Two out of the last 4 companies David has worked at have either had "cast" in the name, or were acquired by Microsoft. David ranks #1 on Google for "Third Party Ad Serving".

Paul Sutter

Paul Sutter most recently held the role of President and Co-Founder of Quantcast. He was instrumental in the development of Quantcast's distributed computing architecture, which is capable of collecting upwards of 12 billion records per day, processing petabytes of data on a daily basis, and running on over 10m sites. Quantcast has raised $50m to date and in 2010 was recognized as the 3rd most innovative web company by Fast Company (behind Facebook and Google). Prior to co-founding Quantcast, Paul founded the WAN optimization company Orbital Data, which was acquired by Citrix in August 2006. Previously, he had also founded Transium, an internet search services company, which was acquired by AltaVista in 2000.

Peter Kassakian

Peter is passionate about statistics and mathematical optimization, especially when it's used to guide great business decisions. He currently is a member of the Scientific Staff at Quantcast. Prior to joining Quantcast Peter was the Principle Scientist responsible for developing paid-search optimization algorithms for ClickShift (acquired by WebTends in 2006). Peter holds a PhD from U.C. Berkeley and a master's degree from MIT.

Jeff White

Jeff has over 12 years of experience as a lead developer at several successful technology startups. Jeff was the first developer at Farecast and helped build and grow a data-intensive website through its acquisition by Microsoft. After the acquisition he played a key role in migrating the system architecture to the Microsoft datacenter. Jeff currently resides at Decide, an early-stage startup where his responsibilities include managing the development infrastructure and implementing scalable web services that power a consumer-oriented website.

Jeff Lanctot

Jeff Lanctot was most recently Chief Media Officer for Razorfish, managing all media planning and buying globally. This role marked Lanctot's return to Razorfish, having previously served at the company from 1999-2009. Prior to this role, Lanctot served as Chief Strategy Officer, with oversight of partnerships, new product development and agency investment strategies. Before serving as CSO, Jeff was Senior Vice President of media, charged with bringing media capabilities to new markets around the globe. He also served as the General Manager of the Northwest region during his decade at the agency. After leaving Razorfish in 2009, Lanctot became the Managing Director of Microsoft's Advertiser and Publisher Solutions (APS) Group, the technology platform that supports Microsoft Advertising. Lanctot is a graduate of Washington State University and is a recipient of Advertising Age's "Media Maven" Award, MEDIAWEEK's "Media All-Star" award, B2B Magazine's "Best & Brightest Media Strategist" award, and was twice named one of Media Magazine's "50 Most Influential People in Online Advertising."
